Romagna is the land of the magical Pantani, on whose hills thousands of cyclists have been
competing in the Granfondo Nine Hills race for almost 50 years. People from Romagna have
cycling in their blood, and the most enthusiastic tourist cyclists love this region precisely
because it is charged with a passion for two wheels.
Within a range of 40km, amateur and professional cyclists have the opportunity to put
themselves to the test, training and having fun in the stunning setting of a landscape where
the plain briefly leaves space for the Romagnola hill. The streets offer itineraries that are
PERFECT FOR ALL KINDS OF SPORTS, but also for those who wish to pursue different passions,
such as enogastronomy, history and culture, or simply nature.
On the seat of a racing bike or a mountain bike, from Cesenatico it is possible to reach
various INTERESTING DESTINATIONS, such as the nearby pine forests of Zadina and Pinarella,
the spectacular Cervia salt mine, or the Foce del Bevano national reserve towards the
Ravenna.
Novecolli between history and paths
In Romagna, between fairytale scenarios and the usual hospitality, a race that puts any
athlete to the test, even the most prepared, but that undoubtedly gives unforgettable
emotions.
The first Nove Colli was born from a group of friends and a great passion, it was May 19th at
5 am and the pioneers of that adventure were only 17. The start? From the historic location
of the Bar del Corso, then home of the association. The story begins! The nine hills today is
divided into two different routes for two levels of difficulty, the 205km and the 130km with
a maximum gradient of 18% on the legendary Barbotto.
Route: It starts from the canal port of Cesenatico covering the first 28 km with very high
averages (over 40Km/h) taking advantage of the trails of the other cyclists, arriving at the
first climb, the one to Bertinoro. And then on to the legendary nine hills.
Many related events were born, such as the Nove Colli Running and the Mini Grandfondo
dedicated to children. Come and discover the pleasure of being immersed in the nature and
landscapes of Romagna, challenging yourself to reach the finish line.
